(FROM DAYTON DAILY NEWS) FAIRBORN — With a “passion for shaping the future of manufacturing,” Wright State University will create a center to expose students to the industry and employers locally and around the world.
The university on Tuesday announced its new Center for Manufacturing Sciences to prepare students for careers and teach students “everything from bioengineering to laser micromachining.” The effort will be led by Larry R. Dosser, founder and chairman emeritus of Mound Laser & Photonics Center, Inc., a local company with $5 million to $6 million in annual sales.
(FROM NEWS SUN) (MOOREFIELD TOWNSHIP) A crash occurred early this morning after a woman swerved off the roadway trying to avoid hitting an animal.
A Chrysler sedan veered off the roadway, drove through a backyard and collided with the back of a home, causing a small hole in the brick exterior of the structure.
The car was initially traveling southbound on Derr Road before it went into the residential area, Clark County sheriff’s deputies said.
The crash happened just before 1:20 a.m. The driver and a passenger in the Chrysler refused any medical treatment and no one inside the home was injured.
Electrical crews were called to the crash scene to repair lines that were downed in the incident.
There was no significant structural damage to the home.
