Get To Know Hope 100.7

HOPE 100.7 (WEEC-FM) is a broadcast ministry of Strong Tower Christian Media, whose mission is to use multiple media platforms to reach more hearts with deeper impact by sharing the love of Jesus through Biblical teaching and worshipful music. We broadcast 50,000 watts from our 479 foot tower located in Springfield, Ohio, our city of license. From there, our signal can be heard within a 75 mile radius, including the cities of Springfield, Dayton & Columbus, Ohio as well as Richmond, Indiana. We also have a translator, 101.9 in Marion, OH.

HOPE 100.7 is a music intensive station, airing songs that are familiar favorites which point you to Jesus. We believe music is a powerful tool to share the Gospel in a way that’s attractive to a broad audience, from people who are simply scanning the radio dial to committed Christ-followers. During the broadcast day, we intersperse short teaching moments from our most popular teachers. Our local, air talent will connect with and encourage you throughout your day.

We offer three additional formats through HD broadcasting and live-streaming from our website, myhope1007.com. These formats include: an all southern gospel music channel (HD 2), a traditional, sacred music channel (HD 3) and a Christian teaching & talk channel (HD 4). You can take us with you wherever you go, by downloading our app in the app or google play store.

WEEC went on the air December 15, 1961, as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Licensed non-commercial, the station is funded by the free will contributions of our listeners. In fact, over 90% of our yearly need is met through the contributions of individuals and families. We also have businesses who partner with us through underwriting.

We are grateful for your partnership in keeping HOPE on the air!

The Team @ Hope 100.7

Tracy Figley

President / CEO

Tracy has been passionate about Christian radio since childhood. He was born one month after WEEC started broadcasting, listened to the station at his home in West Liberty every day, all day, and he was creating radio dramas complete with sound effects by age 7. He dreamed of returning to the station he loved as an announcer one day, but he had no idea how much God had in store for his life.

He earned a degree in Radio Production and Broadcast Management from Liberty University to help him pursue his passion, and he landed his dream job as afternoon announcer on WEEC in 1988. Later, he succeeded Mike Maddex as General Manager, and in 2011 he became the CEO of Strong Tower Christian Media, the parent organization of WEEC and WFCJ. Tracy also serves on the Board of Directors for The Rock Radio Network, a mission radio network in Puerto Rico, and thanks God for a career beyond his wildest dreams.

Daryl Pierce

Program Director

Daryl grew up in a little town in northeast Ohio called Andover. He graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and while there felt God leading him into Christian radio. While at MVNU, he met his wife Julie, who also works in Christian radio. Daryl and Julie have two children, Spencer and Regan. After graduating and running the MVNU campus radio station, Daryl left to help put WNLT in Cincinnati on the air. He later joined STAR 93 (WAKW) in 1992 and worked there until 2014. Daryl began his full time work at STCM in October of 2014. Daryl says he “loves working for STCM because of their passionate focus on ministry.”

Vicki Figley

Executive Assistant

Vicki grew up in the Kansas City area and came to Christ as a young teen. She attended Liberty University in Virginia, where she met her husband Tracy on a singing team. She graduated in 1985, and they married ten days later. Vicki officially joined the staff of Strong Tower Christian Media in 2011 as Executive Assistant. Her primary role is to provide administrative support to the Executive Team. She enjoys interacting with listeners, volunteers, and donors. Prior to 2011, she worked in the field of Christian Education for sixteen years. She says, “The environment here is a lot different from teaching school, but it’s so exciting to see firsthand what God is doing in the lives of our listeners through the ministries of WEEC & WFCJ.” Tracy and Vicki have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Joy Ware Miller

Development Director/Evening Host

Joy is no stranger to radio with 30 years of experience in Christian radio as well as television. She hosted “Joy in the Morning” on WEEC for 10 years prior to her move to San Antonio, Texas. While in San Antonio, Joy was the Promotions Director for 3 Salem Communication stations as well as morning drive host on KSLR. Joy also was a host for TBN’s Community Affairs program, “Joy In Our Town” as well as a guest on various occasions.

Joy’s newest “hat” at Hope 100.7 is hosting EnJoy! You can spend your evenings with Joy from 7-midnight.

Growing up in Ohio and moving to Michigan for 7 years early in her marriage proved to be a challenge, especially on game day! Seriously, God has shown Himself strong in her life as well as her husband Charles, daughters, Lauren and Olivia through many tough struggles that could easily break a family apart. When Joy is not speaking, writing or planning retreats, she enjoys time with her family.

Joy’s favorite scripture is Psalm 16:11 “He will show you the pathway of life and in His Presence is fullness of joy.”

Julie Pierce

On-Air Morning Host

Julie grew up as a pastor’s daughter (and yes…that means she has enough stories to write a book!), and eventually met her husband, Daryl, in their radio broadcasting classes at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Julie has been in Christian Radio, mostly in Cincinnati, for almost 27 years, and speaking of stories, her two children, Spencer and Regan, have provided loads of stories for her to share on the radio through the years as well! Besides being a sharer of encouragement and hope through the airwaves, Julie is an artist, and loves to paint. She especially likes to paint murals on walls or new designs on fabric chairs, or sure…canvases too!

Julie felt God pulling her to leave her comfort zone and trust Him as he led her to a new adventure here at HOPE 100.7, where she is excited to see what He has in mind for her future and for HOPE 100.7!

CJ McKay

On-Air Afternoon Host

C.J. has had a long and interesting career in radio…working at some of the country’s top stations in Charlotte, N.C., New Orleans, St. Louis, Tampa, Fl. and Nashville. He earned a BA in communications at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). It was there as a freshman, he gave his heart to Christ. To lead others to the Savior is his burning passion. C.J.’s favorite Bible verse is II Corithians 2:14 : Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ.

JT Burcham

Traffic Director

JT grew up listening to Marty & Joe deliver the excitement of The Reds on AM radio. He is happily married to his college sweetheart Karen who he met in the choir at Ohio University. Kurtis, their oldest son, lives in Yellow Springs Ohio with his wife Brandi and 3 children - Ryder, Rowan, & Rhen. Kenny, their youngest son, lives in Lancaster Ohio with his wife Maggie.

JT has invested time in multiple Central Ohio radio stations, social work, and church production. He served with the US Army & the Ohio National Guard. When he is not working, he can frequently be found playing with grandkids, cruising in his jeep, and volunteering with the Hustead Fire & Rescue. He loves to play chess, listen to obscure music, and support brides & grooms with DJ services at weddings around Ohio.

Kelly St. James

Account Executive

Kelly’s relationship with Jesus is her number one priority and her first calling is to be a mother and is blessed to have three young adult children!
You can reach her at: kellystjames@wfcj.com

She has been working in radio broadcasting since high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Northern Kentucky University. She has worked in Cincinnati radio for over 35 years with 19 of those being in Christian radio. Her experience includes research projects, event management, promotions, on air, business development, ministry relations, and volunteer coordinator. She is very excited about her new roles with STCM and is looking forward to meeting listeners, ministries, and business owners in the listening area.

Matt Talluto

Evenings Host

Matt grew up on the east side of Detroit (Fraser, MI). He graduated high school in 1989 where he had loads of fun entertaining as a class clown. This eventually led to a career in radio that took him and his wife of 28 years, Therese, all over the Midwest. From Grand Rapids and Fort Wayne to Milwaukee and eventually Cincinnati. Add their two kids, Alex and Alyssa, and it’s been an exciting ride to say the least.
Matt loves music, classic cars, boating, fishing, camping, and being outdoors in general. Whether on the warm beaches of Destin, FL or in the mountains of Gatlinburg, TN you’ll find him in a hammock near a barbeque!

Matt and Therese have always had God in their lives. However, after Matt left corporate radio, they realized God had used his previous 29 years in the business to prepare him to use the mic to help grow and strengthen God’s army. Though, elements of that old class clown are still there as you’ll hear on Hope 100.7.

Jesse Diller

IT Manager

Jesse Diller joined the Strong Tower Christian Media team in December of 2012. Before becoming the IT Manager for WEEC and WFCJ, Jesse served at Rosedale Bible College in central Ohio, of which he is an alumnus. He helped design and start a new department of Online Education, as well as serving as a Webmaster and IT Specialist. Jesse also has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to that, Jesse worked as a Patent Examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office, where he worked with patent applications dealing with Computer Memory Circuitry and Architectures.

Patti Davis

Budget Director

Patti grew up in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and came to know Christ as her Savior at the age of four. She has been married to Steve for 38 years, and they have three adult married children and nine grandchildren.

Patti’s desire has always been to serve Christ wherever He leads her. She comes to Strong Tower with 25 years of experience as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper. She is excited that God has led her here and is looking forward to seeing how He will use her in this ministry of reaching others with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Elizabeth Bingham

Database Coordinator/Receptionist

Elizabeth grew up in a Christian home and received Jesus Christ as her savior when she was 5 years old. She has worked in the medical field in an administrative capacity for several years and has also served in various administrative roles for Strong Tower Christian media for a few years. Elizabeth loves helping people but most importantly, serving the Lord as he leads.

Rebekah Miskimen

Listener Engagement Director

Rebekah grew up with a love for music and its ability to share meaningful messaging. After spending many years raised in the church and in ministry as a pastor's kid, she attended Cedarville University where she studied Christian Ministries for the purpose of discipleship and communications. At Cedarville she also had the opportunity to DJ for the on-campus radio station (shout out Resound Radio!) and led several discipleship involvement groups. She spent a summer at Old Fort Church, where she interned in program management, hospitality, and event planning. Rebekah is beyond excited for God’s leading in bringing her to work with STCM and all that He will do in the future through Hope 100.7!

Matthew Miskimen

Digital Director

Matthew grew up as a missionary kid in Thailand until he moved to Ohio to attend Cedarville University. In both places God showed him the importance of sharing the love and hope of Jesus wherever you are.
Matthew's love for digital grew out of making YouTube videos with his friends in highschool, and he's excited to further Hope 100.7's mission in the digital space!
One of his tasks is to manage and review the website analytics, so if you're reading this, congratulations! You're one of the four people to ever do so! 😉

Kurt Wallace

Middays Host

I've wanted to do radio since 8th grade. I grew up in the St. Louis area and, of course, was a HUGE Cardinal baseball fan! I got a little transistor radio for Christmas that year (showing my age!) and would listen to and repeat what Hall of Fame broadcaster, Jack Buck would say on the radio. That love of broadcasting grew throughout high school and when I enrolled at Greenville College, I went to work at the college radio station on day one!

Fast-forward many years and a few radio station assignments later, I am here at Hope 100.7 and couldn’t be happier! I already feel at home! The Miami Valley is such a great place to live and raise a family. Hope 100.7 is here to make it even better!

I have been married to the “most beautiful girl in the world,” Amy, for 36 years. We have 4 awesome kids (grown now) and 8 incredible grandchildren! Oh, and 2 doodles. Millie is a Golden Doodle and Maggie is a Cavapoo (King Charles Spaniel and Toy Poodle mix).

I love this from Max Lucado…“HOPE is not a granted wish or a favor performed; no it is far greater than that. It is a zany, unpredictable dependence on a God who loves to surprise us out of our socks.”
